Now, Ex-CM’s MLA son assaults government official in Maharashtra

NEW DELHI: Days after a BJP MLA attacked a civic official with bat in Indore, a Maharashtra MLA, along with his supporters, targeted a highway engineer on the Mumbai-Goa highway on Thursday.

Narayan Rane, and his supporters threw mud on engineer Prakash Shedekar at a bridge near Mumbai-Goa highway in Kankavali, according to news agency ANI. The incident happened when the MLA was inspecting the potholes-ridden highway.

In a video of the incident, the MLA is seen pushing the official with his hands and shouting at him. Later, his supporters are seen pouring a bucket of mud on the engineer in the MLA’s presence. The men then push the engineer towards the railing of the bridge and try to tie him up.

municipal officer Dhirendra Singh Bais with a cricket bat while opposing demolition of a dilapidated house in Indore.

Following the incident, Prime Minister

Narendra Modi, in a stern message to BJP leaders

, said that arrogance and misbehaviour cannot be tolerated. He dubbed as “totally unacceptable” the conduct of Akash Vijayvargiya.

According to sources, the PM told the BJP parliamentary party meeting that “whoever it may be, whoever’s son he may be … such arrogance, misbehaviour cannot be tolerated” and action should be taken against those who indulge in such a conduct.

“Manmaani nahi chalegi,” he said in Hindi, meaning one cannot get away with doing whatever he or she wishes.
